Box It When You Are On The Road
I remember when I was in high school I was a band geek, played the baritone saxophone in the marching band. Many times during season, we’d pile in the bus and head out to either a competition or football game. Normally, we brought our “lunches” on board in whatever could carry them. Sometimes sacked min that proverbial brown paper bag or, if really cool, mom bought you some type of “grownup” lunch carrying vessel that could hold a sandwich or two and a drink.
I remembered all this recently when I received an email from a lady who operates a bus tour business. She posed a question to me that was an interesting one:
“Justin – I operate a bus tour business that offers half, full day and some evening excursions for sightseeing and visits to local historical venues and museums. For years we’ve struggled with providing our guests a quality meal stop – lunch or dinner – that could satisfy them and keep us on schedule. The problem is that no matter what type restaurant we stop at, somebody doesn’t want to eat there. Is there some kind of catered group meal kit we could purchase and take with us. We have space limitations on many buses, but I’m willing to look into converting our vehicles to accommodate carrying a meal, as long as we create a way to maintain its freshness and quality while traveling about for a few hours. Any suggestions?”
A specialty caterer like Just Corporate Catering who has experience providing exceptional meal choices to meet any business need would offer delivering a “box lunch” for each tour participant at whatever location that bus happens to stop for a break. Corporate business caterers service many different business needs that have space limitations making both sit-down and buffet styled meals impossibility.
That’s how I recalled my school days where we mostly ate in the bus but did occasionally stop at a roadside park equipped with picnic tables and rest rooms. If the time of year when a bus tour or trip is operated permits a “picnic-style” outdoor setting, or clients on tour can dine comfortably inside the vehicle, your best choice is to order box lunches for all.
Caterers offering box lunches usually provide a selection of sandwiches, deserts, fruit and accompanying flatware and condiments necessary for a great tasting meal. Furthermore, cold drink orders can accompany meal requests and, as long as a tour bus is within the delivery service area of a caterer, I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t opt for catered box lunches as the choice to meet both your clients’ and your needs. As the operator of daily, weekly or monthly tours, I’m sure you can negotiate favorable price for group purchases that not only provide different meal choices, but an affordably attractive price as well.
The convenience, choice, food quality and delivery service selecting a specialized caterer like (Just Corporate Catering] for you tour client’ dining needs might become a valuable marketing tool.
I wish my school bandmaster thought of it!
